Cindy's Story
After graduation, I went to Treveca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN. I really didn't like being that far away from my family and close friends, so when the school year was over, I moved back to Raleigh and went to Wake Tech. I started there working towards a computer degree, but quickly found out that computers weren't "my thing". While in school, I was working at Holiday Inn Reservation Center in Cary. While working and going to school, I met a man who was in the Marine Corps stationed in Jacksonville, NC. We got married and lived in Jacksonville for 4 years. ent to Okanawa, Japan. After the divorce, I continued to work strange jobs like being a nanny and working for United Parcel Service. I finally got a job with the American Kennel Club in the Companion Animal Recovery department. I worked there for 10 years before I decided to move and go to school in Charlotte to be an interpreter for the deaf. For several years I have lived in Concord, NC (home of Nascar), going to school to be an interpreter for the deaf, and working for Menlo Logistics - A Con-way Company. I have enjoyed where I work and what I am going to school for and will look forward to becoming an interpreter for the deaf in the coming years.
