Penny Best:  

I was born with the name Cynthia Louise Conelly. I went to Jason Lee Jr High, and then on to Stadium. Though I did not graduate with my class of 1983, Mr Shane gave me license to be an Alumni. However, I was never able to attend a reunion. There are so many that I know and not just from my class. Some of my best times were at both schools, and I look forward to maybe coming to a reunion in the future. Most of you might remember me in drama as a student of Mrs McIntyre. I also had her husband in drama at Jason Lee Jr High and performed in Bye Bye Birdie. I had since moved on to little theater musicals later, and then straight out recording. Music was always my passion, not acting. School years were a rough time for me because not many new how abusive my home-life was, and I hid it very well. I look forward to connecting with many of you. I remember all of you. You all have made a big impression in my life. Thank you for accepting me for who I was, and not bullying too much...LOL Now as to my life: What have I been up to? Well as many might not know there was some rough times at home during my entire childhood. Things started getting worse in 1982-1983. Mother dumped me off to a father in CA I didn't know. School was actually good at Anaheim High School, my grades were close to a 3.0. I did a play in H.S. got scouted by a talent agent, things turned better being offered a scholarship to Irvine University of Fine Arts. Just two of us were selected from Anaheim H.S. in early 1983 to visit the College. I guess Father had is own plans, he didn't like mine...moving out with 3 other girls and going to college. I got shipped home to Mother. I started back at Stadium and was held back so while y'all graduated, I was stuck behind...Not fun. I just then dropped out, life got crazy from there until 1985. From there I got involved with music, plays, anything really. In 1985 I married a classmate from Charles Wright Academy, no kids. I was offered a recording contract with New World Records, Mr Marvel Love in 1987...went to Milwaukee to sign contract, but before it could come to life, they had a major fire in their studio in Georgia...I stopped doing music for 2 yrs after, but then got back up. In 1988 I legally changed my name to Penelope Lane Conelly ( Munn ) Penny Lane for short. My Mother had wanted to name me Penny when I was born, so I changed it when I was 19 yrs old. In 1990 I started designing fashion for underground artists and the late night crowds, World-go-Round, MFG. That went on until 1994. Divorced in 1994. Had a great time up until 1995. Got Pregnant, married for the sack of marriage, that ended very badly, but what I got from that was a beautiful daughter. She has Autism, but doing great now.
