Cindy's Story

Back in the day... Williamson High Days, I lived behind Birdville on Gulf Field Dr. I rode the bus and looked forward to going to school. Home life was bad and school was my sanctuary. I was never out on 'the field'. I hung out by the steps. I was one of the 'good girls'. I did my own homework and homework that belonged to Kenny Warren. Those were the good ole days. Somehow that co-dependent behavior made sense. I grew up and didn't leave Mobile till I married Kenny's brother David Warren. I have made a counselor out of myself. I am currently working on my PhD and am in private practice. I have a set of twins, David and Autumn that are 31 this year. Wow! that makes me really feel old. (2009) And I am a grandmother to 7. I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a dumb idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I'm not an author as one of our other classmate is, but I wrote articles for 1 year for an online newspaper - 60 articles total. The question was asked, "what's the wildest thing you ever did in school?" I have two...Expand for more
things: went to the beach with Randy Cook and set a lunch room table with a table cloth and flowers for a week. It made sense then. :) Favorite authors: Toni Morrison and Stephen King. Is that a wild combination or what? The one person I would like to see again from my past high school days is Kenny Warren but he died in 2002. I sure did love him. The other person I would like to see from my past is Betty Tanner. She was a year behind us. She lived in RV Taylor Plaza. I always wonder what she did with her life. Another person I would like to catch up on is Nelda King Allenbach. I wonder about her as well. And what ever happened to Cindy Fryer? My first job was at Richee's Roast Beef on Government Blvd. Remember that place? Best days were when the baseball team showed up. I remember Mr. Keeby telling me, "Son, get back to class!!" He thought I was a boy. I didn't know how to dress. I ALWAYS wore a pair of jeans, a tee shirt and flannel shirt. I had long blond hair but so did the guys. I guess I really did look like a guy back then. Well, I guess that's my story.
