Cindy's Story

Razorback country is still home and my southern accent gets a little bit deeper with each passing year. Especially if I am talking really fast, but not near the deep southern accent as my husband and three daughters. I have been married to the same poor soul for almost 30 years. You are probably asking yourself why someone would want to be around me that long...and I ask myself that question everyday. He works hard for his family and friends and is very true to both. Just the other day he bought a new mailbox for our elderly neighbor lady and put it up for her before the snow storm hit so her mail would not get wet. After the 26 inches of snow fell, (Yes it was a record snow fall for Arkansas), he spent almost 11 hours cleaning snow off the dirt road so everyone on the road could get out. My husband, Bill, has never met a stranger and will talk your ear off if you let him. He is a very good person and earns a gold star into heaven everyday. Our oldest daughter, Kimberly, is still a Learning Specialist for the University of Arkansas. She also helps out at rehabilitation facilities on her days off and is thinking about getting involved with helping children with speech problems on top of that. Kimberly will be getting married this June to a wonderful young man. Fate kept bringing them together over the last four years and I have never seen a happier couple. Her future husband is from Chicago with a heart of gold and never a bad day. (I get to brag that I picked this guy out for Kim long before they ever started dating.) Our middle daughter, Brittany, just got married this last November on the beach at Gulf Shores. The wedding and the weather were absolutely perfect. Brittany married a great guy from Mena, Arkansas. He has a great wit, fun to be around, and seems to actually ...Expand for more
love this crazy and sometimes insane household. They live in a town just south of Fayetteville, so we still get to see her and him often. (Bill picked this great guy out for Brittany.) Brittany will be finishing her BA degree this December and then two years of Graduate school after that. She changed her major from Special Education to Child Development. Her goal is to work with preschoolers with learning disabilities. Jennifer is the youngest and is enjoying her first year in college. She takes about 19 college hours a semester so she doesn't become bored. What an overachiever!! Ha! At the rate she is going, she will graduate from a four year program in just under three years. Her goal is to be a Child Life Specialist. Jennifer wants to work in a Children's Hospital on the east coast someday. It takes a very special person to be a support person for families in a crisis situation, but Jennifer seems to be a really good fit. As for me.....I walked away from a lucrative position five years ago because part of my job was attending court to testify against people that owed the company I worked for money. Yes, because of the economic struggles we all have or are facing, it was probably not the best time, but looking at myself in the mirror and seeing that person in the mirror looking back at me wasn't one of my best moments. I continued my part-time job of keeping books for a development company and spent the rest of my time taking care of my family. I truly appreciate your patience to read my entire story. Thank you so much for listening and visiting my profile. If you are interested in getting to know me or reconnecting with me, please send me a note. I would like to end this with something I tend to say a lot......"If you ever want to make God laugh...tell him your plans."
