Cindy's Story

I haven't lived in Streetsboro for almost 20 years. I lived in Hudson for 10 years with my ex-husband, George Leacock, who has since passed away. My husband, Rob, and I lived in Michigan for about 8 months, then we moved here to Pa. I'm within a mile of the Ohio state line. I graduated from nursing school 12 years ago. Four years ago, I became extremely ill and almost died. They found I have a very rare blood disease, (almost like a cancer),but for now, it's in remission thanks to a special injection I get twice a week, so I had to take early retirement. My husband is wonderful. We have been married almost 18 years. My daughter has always called him dad and he has always introduced her as his daughter. They are very close. He has worked in the funeral industry in some form or another throughout our marriage. When people would find out what he did for a living, they would be fascinated with his stories, so I told him he should write a book. He did and it was published. It's called, The In's and Out's of Life in A Dying Industry, by Robert D. Bracken. If you would like to check it out, go to publishamerica.com, and type in the above information in the search area. He is in the process of finishing his second book. My beautiful daughter, Crystal, is the light of my life. She will be 25 this year. She works full time and is going to YSU part-time to be a psychologist. She married a good man. My son-in-law is a graphic arts designer. I just wish they'd hurry up and give me a grandchild. my dad last july. My mom still lives in the same house in Streetsboro. My wonderful 3 sisters are all doing fine. My oldest sister that lives in Texas, lost her husband to pancratic cancer three years ago. I try to live life one day at a time and put all my faith in God. I joined classmates for a three month trial period because I would like to find out what's happened to people I spent most of my teenage years with. Being in band was the best thing I did in school. I know we were thought of as band geeks, but, boy did we know how to have fun, and that's where I learned about football. I am the #1 Cleveland Browns fan. Unfortunately, my husband is a steelers fan. Every sunday during football season is like the 4th of july at our house. We are getting ready to move on a 168 acre farm in East Palisine, Ohio a friend of ours owns. Ther's three houses there and we will live in one while we build our dream home on some acres we bought in Bessemer, Pa. I'm excited because i'll be able to ride the horses and feed the buffalo. I have a 8 year old mutt named Sassy, and a 17 year old cat named Sebastian. I'm an excellent cook. My specialties are, beef tips over noodles, chicken ala king, and my special secret recepie of southern style potato salad. I love to read, fish, hike, camp, and go to casinos. Ok, i'm done writing about me. Here are some of the people i'm looking for: Sue Shephard. Genie Shepard. Pat Pauley. Jesse Fleming, and any others from band, but I want to hear from all of you too.
