Cindy's Story
After graduation from BHS, I enrolled at BPCC. which was called Bossier Community College at the time. I studied there for 2 years and got my first job while still in school at Borg-Warner Financial which was located in the Southfield Shopping Center on Youree Drive. I liked the finance business because I enjoyed the interaction with the customers. I eventually became manager of Signature Loans located on Benton Road.
I then decided to change to the insurance business. I studied for the licenses necessary to sell property and life insurance and went to work for Geico. I met my husband, Mike Demler (BHS class of '67} in 1974 while I was still at BPCC and he was at LSU-S. We would marry in 1975 and would go on to have two children together, Mike Jr. and Matt.
I retired in 2015. Mike and I along with our cat KoKo (named after the KoKoMo) live in South Bossier in the Plantation Trace subdivision. I mostly enjoy staying home and watching my favorite television shows such as Yellowstone, 1883 and all of the old westerns as well as classic movies.
I think of BHS often and will always remember it as a great place with a lot of very nice students and teachers. I was very lucky to have been a student there.
