Cindy's Story
If I had a lot of interesting things to tell about myself - I would have written this a long time ago! I've enjoyed my life - but haven't done anything earth-shattering. I graduated from UT in '79 and became a CPA in 1981. Met my husband, Rob, through work. We've been married for almost 25 years and have four kids - Brooks (21), Beau (19), Barrett (18) and our daughter, Bradie (15). I think that explains where most of my time has gone in the past 20 years! We live in Georgetown, Texas - (just north of Austin) on 40 acres, and have been here for about 20 years. Before we started our family, we traveled a lot -and had an exotic game ranch in the Kerrville area. We've been in construction in some form or fashion for all of these years. omeplace by the water. I also like reading, movies, and sports cars. We try to spend a lot of time in Colorado these days - to escape the Texas heat!
The biggest surprise to me as the years have passed is the fact that I really "feel" the same as I did years ago. When I was in high school/college - like my kids are now, my parents were only in their 40s and I thought they didn't have a clue what life was about - and I didn't think they really had any interests. Now, when my Dad, at 73, says he still doesn't feel old, I understand what he means. I don't feel like 35 years have passed since high school, I just get frustrated when I look in the mirror, and it's my Mom staring back at me! I have also found that the "connections" we made in high school really do last a lifetime - even if years pass without any contact...
