Cindy's Story
Life
My husband Phil just passed away July 26, 2006. I have a very close relation with my 3 sons and grand son. I have managed a local band and have many friends in bands. Jimmy Van Zant came over with his band in their tour bus to our house and Phil fed them and we partied til late next morning. I work as a dispatcher for a freight co.. I own multi-unit rental property. I stay in a duplex and keep Phil's cat Frodo. I've helped host open mic nights. I live day to day and know that Phil is never gone from me. I'm a happy person and can still fit into clothes I wore in highschool.
School
I was well known as Kenny and Bryan's little sister. I don't even remember why, but at lunch time several guys would always grab me and throw me over the fence in front of Kearny High. My younger brother was always on the field riding his big wheel and spitting on the guys running track. I was always called out of class to fetch him home, if I could find him. His big wheel was found all alone so I took it to the dean's office for safe keeping, He had fun the rest of the day showing off his ride to work. I cut school for three weeks and was finnally caught. I came back to school, but not for long. I was sent to Puerto Rico to live with my dad. He sent me to live with my Aunt for school reasons. I ended up running away back to the USA in a daring night escape with ...Expand for more
help from friends I made there. I came back to Kearny High and had a roller coaster ride since.
Workplace
I worked at Bambergers as a sales girl part time. At the same time I worked at an insurance agency as a mail clerk. I became pregnant and went to Texas to stay with my Mom. Needing a job, I baby sat while pregnant. After some time and trouble with the father of my child, I went to work cleaning construction homes. I became partners with the owner of the company and learned to hang wallpaper. I went into the wallpapering business by myself and having many subcontractors working for me. I decided to go to college and take veterinary courses. I quit college after the birth of my third child. Only because of my stupidity of staying in a very detrimental relationship with the father of my three sons. I sold roses at bars as a rose girl, then started delivery driving. I became a dispatcher after a very bad asthma attack. I dispatch 44 drivers with help from another new dispatcher. The trucks range from 1/2 ton pick-up trucks to 40 ft goosenecks. It is very mental all day long especially since we work old time. No computers, just cards with the info hand written on them and placed on the drivers pegs on a large slanted board. It gets very hectic and drinking coffe just makes me more hyper. I can still function after work and don't drink very much.
