Cindy's Story
Life
My life bio........
I worked for a home builder while in high school and have pretty much stayed in the industry. Actually, more in the flooring business; Arvada Hardwood (which Home Depot bought out), Plaza 70 Interiors, Cutting Edge Tile and Marble, Brekhus Tile & Stone and even owned a flooring company with my ex-husband.
I love the construction industry even though it fluctuates so much. Married Jay Harris out of high school and we divorced in 1993. Our daughter, Therese, graduated from Lakewood High School in 2007 and attends Metro State College.
I married again in 1998 to Nick Calomino, (Wheat Ridge class of '77), and we have a son named Rory. He was born with spina bifida in 2001. I also have a step-daughter named Emily, and she has a daughter named Ava.
My life has always been a roller coaster ride! Some just can't handle the ride! We divorced in 2006.
I am also a thyroid cancer survivor. I still have areas of thyroid cancer in my neck and it has metastisized into my lungs, I have regular check ups out at Anschutz.

My parents still live in the same house in Club Crest, they have both retired, My dad was a mechanic for the fire district and my mom a bookkeeper) so you have to call the cell phone, as they are rarely home or in town. Getting my two brothers--(George class of '83 and Billy '90) and my sister(Kathie '86) and their families together involves several phone calls!
I work at the Washington Heights Arts Studio for the City of Lakewood on Saturdays and just love it. Have always been artsy/craftsy and I make and sell raku-fired pottery, jewelry, and I offer calligraphy services for invitations, thank you's, business correspondence and certificates / achievement awards.
We call our Saturday pottery class "therapy". What else? hmmmm......life certainly did not go the way I thought it would way back in '82......I was soooooo serious then....but, I am still figuring out what I want to do when I do grow up!
After attending my daughter's graduation, it made me curious what all the people that I graduated with were doing. So....just curious I guess.
