Claire's Story
After graduating from Brandon Hall in 1992, I attended Brenau Women's College in Gainesville, GA and joined the Tri Delta sorority and lived in the house my sophmore and Junior year. Since Brenau was a Women's school, I spend a lot of time in Athens, GA enjoying the night life and day life (shopping, etc.).
I did not graduate from Brenau actually I got burnt out from attending Summer School for as long as I could remember since my 5th grade year in middle school, so i returned to Atlanta and started job searching - wasn't quite sure what I would end up doing, but I eventually found a Permanent Staffing Agency called OM5 (Office Mates 5). I was hooked up with a job at Bank Atlanta on Clairmont in Decatur and worked there for 2.5 years got to know a lot of fun Emory students and had a fun social time outside work. Leaving Bank Atlanta b/c I was challenged enough, OM5 found me a job as an Office Coordinator with a family owned Textile business on Northside Pkwy by Mount Paran Rd called The Seydel Companies and Seydel International. Their Textile plant was in Pendergrass, GA I believe. From the moment I stepped into this small office on Northside Pkwy and I met Mr. Scott Seydel, the owner, and his staff I knew this company would be a great fit for me. So, i was the Receptionist and had many roles of an Office Manager, but I did not manage anyone. I stayed there for about 3 years and wanted to be challenged more. So, I called OM5 and asked them to be on the look out for a more challenge Administrative Receptionist position in the Buckhead area and after a few weeks o...Expand for more
f interviews with some different companies, I was invited for a interview with NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers)-former Name. Current and new name, FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), I came in as a lower level Administrative Assistant and titles are different here at FINRA for the Admin. staff. If I were to apply for jobs as an Admin for other companies, I would be on the Executive Assistant side or be well qualified for training for an Office Manager.
I really do love where I work and enjoy very much the people I work with here. I have been employed with FINRA since 1998 (13+ years). Our office is on Piedmont Rd in Buckhead. I have an 8 mile round trip from home to work. I own a condo in Cross Creek and have been divorced for 9 years, no children. I did enjoy being married, just got married too young (23 and divorced by 25). I have done lots of dating and have had lots of single time too.
Just recently, my application was accepted to joing The Junior League of Atlanta for Fall 2011 Training and I could not be more excited.
I am a Aunt to 2 of the most adorable children (but don't we all say that if we are an aunt or an uncle). i have a niece named Lucy Grace who turns 1 this August and I have a nephew named Conner who turns 3 in August and my birthday is in August and I will be 38 (I can't believe it-how the time goes by). Well, I will continue to add to my Story, but I must get ready for my day At FINRA . I leave my house by 7:15am to be at work by 8am and my day is over at 5pm (no evenings, weekeneds, or out of town travel).
