Claire's Story
Life is good here on Foster Pond in Bridgton Maine. My husband and i have been married almost 37 years now and we love to travel. I've been retired on disability since the fall of 2019. Unfortunately, my feet are still giving me trouble, so I am pursuing other options at the moment. My son and daughter both still live close, to my delight, but no grandchildren for me yet. This year's big trip was to the Netherlands in April for their tulip growing season. I did not know there were so many tulip colors and varieties!
On a sad note, my dad passed away last fall from complications due to his Parkinson's ...Expand for more
disease. He was in memory care his last month, separated from mom, and I think this did a number on him. Mom is still at the assisted living, keeping herself busy, so as not to miss her husband of 65 years. I'm her Healthcare proxy, so I am frequently taking trips to Topsham for her doctors' appts.
I am currently the president of the board of directors for the local singing group, the Lake Region Community Chorus. Yes, I am still singing - it brings me joy!
My other joy is my faith and my church family at St Joseph's Catholic Church has supported me through all my ups and downs. Praise God every day!
