Claire's Story
Life UPDATE
Life has taken a drastic change for me and my family and I have a heavy heart as I give you the latest news.
On June21, 2010 my husband Scott passed away from a head trauma injury that he received during a fall in our home. His sudden passing has been a great loss to our whole family. Scott and I celebrated 18 fun-filled years together and I miss him desperately.
Our kids are amazing and resilient and each day presents new challenges. The wounds are fresh and very sore. But we celebrate Scott and make sure he is remembered daily. His humor, love and dedication to our family bring many memories that are soothing. We bring him with us always through our memories.
William (11) our youngest was shot in the eye with a BB gun (IT WAS AN ACCIDENT and he did not shoot himself). He will have eye surgery to remove the lens on August 16th. At that point we will know more about the damage and what we can expect for restoring the sight in his eye. We are keeping positive. Will is starting 6th grade and is now in Middle School.
Erin (16) is a beautiful teenager and will start her junior year. She will take her driving test on September 2nd. We are all saddened by the loss of Scott but Erin is a âÃÂÃÂdaddyâÃÂÃÂs girlâÃÂàand she carries the burden of loss along while surviving the âÃÂÃÂteenageâÃÂàyears. I too was a daddyâÃÂÃÂs girl and know the loss too well. At times I feel helpless and wish that I could shoulder this burd...Expand for more
en from her.
I could not be prouder of my children and am grateful that we have each other.
My mother, Shirley celebrated her 85th birthday. She continues to live with Erin, William and me and I am blessed to have her love and support âÃÂàas always âÃÂàduring these trying times. My mom and Scott were great together and she misses him so very much too.
The outpour of support and comfort from family and friends has been overwhelmingly wonderful...Again - we are grateful.
My goal is to have some very positive news to report during my next update!
My wish for you is to stay well and be happy.

Life
I literally SURVIVED 2006. In January 2006 I spent 8 days in a medically induced Coma. It was 3 months before I could return to work and I hope that in 2007 I will feel like myself...close to 100% soon.
2007 is here and as you can imagine, I am hoping for a very quiet and uneventful year.
I celebrated 20 years with FedEx and still love the work I do and the people I work with. People from FedEx are known to "Bleed Purple" and I must say that rings true with me.
Scott and I will celebrate our 15 years of marriage in 2007. Erin is 12 and in 7th grade and William is 7 and in 2nd grade. Both keep us busy. Erin guessed the weight of a pumpkin and we celebrated Halloween with a 216 pounder in our front entrance!!!
My mom is 81 and lives with us. Her health is good and our lives are very busy and great.
Please feel free to drop me a note.
