Claire's Story
Life
I had a private hypnotherapy practice for 9 years. Since my divorce in 2008, I have gone back into admin. office work. I worked at Panavision for 8 1/2 years (from 1995-2003). My brother, Mark, moved to Houston, TX a few years ago and bought a house in Ft. Worth in 2003. Both of our parents have passed away, our dad in March 2000 and our mom in March 2001. I've been working for South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA since September of 2010. The Tenant Coordinating/Tenant Construction office keeps me busy and on my toes! I'm fortunate to be there and have met a lot of awesome people there.
College
I started out w/2 years at Pierce College, then went to Sonoma State Univ. w/Summer Wells for a year and we're still friends w/one of our roommates from there, Jenni, who used to work for the Polly Klaas Foundation and is now an independent consultant regarding missing and exploited children. year, then my parents retired & bought a new house in the area & I lived with them during my last year of school. Also developed a huge crush on my Shakespeare professor! Graduated on the hottest day of the year w/a BA in English Lit., a minor in Philosophy, magna cum laude (high honors). I was also invited into the English Honor Society at the school.
After working in office jobs for a few years, I became interested in hypnotherapy and decided to enroll at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI). I graduated from the one-year, nationally accredited program in 2000, and have since taken several other courses for additional certifications related to hypnotherapy, so that now I am also a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Master Guided Imagery Facilitator. I loved working with children and teenagers to develop better study habits, overcome test anxiety, and enjoy (!) doing their homework! I also specialized in relationship improvement strategies, and fears and phobias like fear of flying and stage fright for actors and musicians.
