Clare's Story
Greetings, All--
* Okay, this starts out sounding like a resume, but please be patient ;). Lots of ground to cover since '75, and I'm happy with what I've done.
* St. Bonaventure University, B.A. English; awarded a Fellowship for an M.A. in English there. Subsequently taught there for a few years, then moved from New York to Massachusetts in '85 when the economy tanked. Remember 13% unemployment in NY back then?
* Worked in the newspaper industry for Fidelity Capital at Community News-paper Company from '85 to '97, in several positions at different divisions of the same 100+ paper corporation. Ended as Classified Business Systems Manager, responsible for 50+ users' software and hardware, user training, remote location operations, & administration of a multi-million dollar Advertising database.
* Specialized in system consolidation projects as newspapers were continually purchased by the corporation. Liason between Advertising and the I.T., Layout and Accounting Depts., as well as proprietary software engineers & vendors.
* {Yes, with degrees in English. ;) OMG!} ~~~~~~~~~ Okay, enough on work.

error of commitment and a lost love, & married Marc Lerman in Nov. 1991. He's nearly 10 yrs. my junior, but he's my rock and the bulldog who wouldn't let me run away. I'm still glad of it today! Didn't hurt that when we met he was a fan of both Monty Python and the Moody Blues.
* Car accident sidelined me early in '97, at 6-1/2 mos. pregnant, with debilitating Thoracic Radiculopathy (nerve pain in the back). Delivered my son Aaron at 29 wks. 1/30/97 due to this and pre-eclampsia. He's healthy & happy today at 13-- smart, sassy, handsome, kind and my greatest joy.
* So am still a homemaker today, not in great health but happy nonetheless. We have a house overlooking Lake Maspenock in Hopkinton, MA. (the town where the Boston Marathon starts every year by our Town Common). Love acquiring gemstones & making jewelry; maybe I'll have my own line someday. Can't keep a good brain down!
* Would enjoy hearing from old friends, both from Cuba and from Walsh, as well as lake people & college buddies. Newbies with similar interests also welcome.
Love, Hugs & a great Zinfandel,
Clare Smith Lerman
