One of Clarence's favorite quotes is:""If you could do anything in the world knowing that you wouldn't fail no matter how hard, what would it be? ... Now go out there and do it!" - New Years Eve(movie 2011) "To be successful you must break the limitations of the mind, and work like hell!"- Clarence E. McCray Jr.". More about Clarence:"Clarence E. McCray is nothing short of an inspired, ambitious and dedicated example of a modern renaissance man. Even from the earliest years of his life he showed extreme promise, potential and professionalism. At the tender age of four Clarence decided he would earn a J.D. degree from a prestigious law school so that he can help fight for what's right. This goal ignited a significant inclination towards education. As a result of his hard work, Clarence was offered the opportunity to skip to the eighth grade while he was but a fifth grader. His parents valued his childhood and decided that the skip was not necessary. During high school he started his freshman year with a bang; McCray obtained a seat on the symphonic band as 1st chair Baritone Horn, received special awards while on the schools Robotics team at nationals, and even lead the high school basketball team to a collection of victories as the team's starting point guard. With the remainder of his high school career Clarence achieved and completed a grandiose arsenal of awards and projects that bedazzle his résumé. These include attending and completing the International Baccalaureate Program, Loyola Legal Academy, Depaul IB Summer college; serving as president of the My Brother's Keeper Program, President and Founder of MCACD (Michele Clark Annual Coat Drive), Treasurer of the National Honors Society, Chairman of the Community Service Branch of NHS, Panelist on a variety of stages, Student Ambassador of Michele Clark; received Awards such as 1st Place winner of the prestigious Heroes in the Hood Award, Summer college Academy Certificate of Completion, Certificate of membership in NHS, Certificate of Participation with the Loyola University Chicago Law Academy, 2010 Mayoral Award for Student Achievement, Illinois House of Representatives Certificate of Recognition, Full ride scholarships from over 15 accredited colleges and universities, the General Assembly Award of full tuition, Universi...Expand for more
ty of Illinois's Presidential Scholarship and so many more. He also worked at the local supermarket, Jewel-Osco, where he learned the value of dollar and how much work goes into earning a living. As a college Freshman, Clarence has been determined to stay active in the community by joining MBSA (Minority Business Student Association), and earning certificates and attending workshops such as Project Leadership, Empathy, and Invention to Venture. He has also taken on the responsibility of mentoring African American high school freshman to gear them towards perusing secondary education. Along with the position of being a mentor comes the position of being a certified mandated reporter. In addition to this Clarence works with the University of Illinois Dinning halls as a Checker and Pizza Maker. Not only is he focused in being active in the community but he also maintains a GPA that one can boast about. Would you believe me if I told you that I've yet to scratch the surface? Well it's true! Although McCray is such busy man he has set the time aside to search himself to find what truly makes him happy and he has found a way to make a living out of doing just that. Since then he has been working diligently on one of the most complex start-ups I've ever heard of. He has connected his three main interests in education, fashion and helping others in a manner that has been used to structure this start up as a social enterprise. I will only disclose the companies name (Inswé) simply because this biography isn't meant to serve as a plug, but I did have to mention it, as it is something that is now a part of him. On that note, this exciting new project of his is already gaining recognition and is expecting to be considered a pioneer company for the future of social enterprises in a few short years. To find out more about Inswé find our Facebook page and read more about us as well as look for updates and accomplishments, thank you! Consequently, when not at work, in school, doing homework or remaining active on campus, he is inexorably devoting all his time and energy to getting this start up off the ground. Hands down, I look at Clarence E. McCray as one of the most if not, the most inspiring young man of today's time and I look forward to seeing the result of his up and coming company. I will part this excerpt with a quote that Clarence clearly lives by: "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." -Harold R. McAlindon Phi Rho Eta Fraternity Inc. The Legendary Gamma Chapter P.S. Reclamation B.R.S. Vanguard 7:38am December 3, 2011 Captain, Current Vice President, Head of Publicity".
