After graduation I attended Oakland City Col.and Laney trade school.I was tired of school and decided a trade would be best for me. I injured my right shoulder and due to an operation I couldn't pursue the plumbing trade.It also classified as 1Y at the draft board and it kept me out of the Military. I elected to move to Monterey and attend MPC. I met my wife Diane in 1963 and we're married 6/28/64. We have 4 children through adoption process. Our 2 oldest boys we're through private adoption at their time of birth. The 3rd boy and our daughter are birth siblings and we adopted them at their ages of 4 and 2. Diane and I were foster parents for approx.12 years to 9 different children and stopped when we adopted our last 2. I have had quite the variety of employments. PG&E gas division, Monterey PD officer, Insurance adjuster,Shift chemist, self employed as handyman, Purchasing agent for a large cheese plant, and then 19 years till my 1st retirement with the local telephone company. A year later and the wife still wanting to work I decided to drive Manteca Unified school buses. Since I was always going to this area's High school games, Diane thought I might as well get paid for taking the teams while enjoying my favorite past time, "SPORTS". We kept our boys active in the youth baseball, track, basketball, and Pop-Warner type football. I also coached youth football 6 yrs., basketball 7 yrs. and scouted for the boys and girls varsity basketball teams. Other than coaching and attending sporting events, we enjoyed alot of camping in the Sierra's and at the Calif. coast Parks. My hobbies included wood working, acrylic painting,geo cacheing, fishing on the deltas, and having cups of coffee with the retired group.
