Clark's Story
Life
I've spent the past fifty years (mainly) reading, writing, teaching and travelling. My wife of 44 years, Bharati Mukherjee, is an India-born novelist, and professor (currently at Berkeley); we have two sons and two granddaughters. The granddaughters are China-born, our sons (like me) are Canada-born, so we've been travelling most of our lives (we've lived in Iowa, New York, Montreal, Toronto and San Francisco as well as Calcutta, New Delhi...Expand for more
, Bangalore and Mumbai); I've taught in about 20 universities in Canada and the US, and directed the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa for nine years which took me several times around the world raising money, recruiting writers and giving speeches. Right now I'm quasi-retired, concentrating on writing new books (Amazon my name, or Google it for details), enjoying a few months in our second home in Southampton, Long Island.
