After high school, I travelled the country for 5 years from coast to coast in a 64 GMC panel truck that I bought from Ronnie Booth-I was just your basic hippy. When I got back in 80, you couldn't buy a job. I walked into Thomas Nelson answering an ad in the Press for work while you get paid to go to school. It was an engineering co-op position. I did not qualify. The woman asked me what I like to do. I said I like to work on engines. She said maybe you want to be an engineer. Ha. She should have said, maybe you want to be an auto mechanic. Anyway, I got in it-way over my head. I wasn’t cut out for this stuff. I wasn’t one of the smart kids, but I suffered through it and transferred to ODU. Got a BSME and then an MSME (barely). Turns out even average folks can learn this high-tech stuff. Now, I am considered a Top Gun at NASA. Irony or all irony, my life was greatly affected by a NASA engineer who thought I was a not good enough. Funny how life turns out. As for Denice, for those of you that knew us, I never stopped loving her-not for a single minute. Here's a fun story. Last reunion I saw Woody Wood. He asked me where I was living. I said Houston.
