Claudia's Story
The Hospitality Industry has been my life for over 40 years. I've been retired from full time work for the past five years but still do some consulting work mostly for private clubs. I will work for cash, food and golf!
Playing golf has become a passion since my retirement. I'm not that good but love the game and just being outside - it's a great walk! I was Captain of the Women's 18-Hole Division at Overlake Golf and Country Club in Medina, WA, and still love playing there when I get the opportunity. I have one Hole-in-One to my credit so far!
I belong to a local charitable organization called Bellevue LifeSpring and mostly just donate 'stuff' to sell in their Thrift Store. They do some amazing things with the funds they collect.
I am a 25 year member of CHART (Counc...Expand for more
il of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers). This is a world-wide organization for people working in the hospitality industry. They hold two conferences per year, and I usually attend one. It is a terrific networking opportunity and I have many members have become long-time friends.
Reading has always been a favorite pastime so I've been a member of three Book Clubs for several years...one in WA and two in AZ. That encourages me to read books I might not otherwise choose for myself.
On a personal note, I can't seem to make marriage work for me so am striking out on my own again.....naturally! Peoria, AZ, will be my permanent address from now on. I'll be grateful to be there during the winter months but will move about in July and August....way too hot then!
