Claudia's Story
Life
Our 30-year high school reunion (that I nearly didn't go to) was the happiest day of my life. Guy Wedge walked back into my life and I am finally, finally happy!
Guy retired from GM at the end of June this year and we're together all of the time now instead of only on the weekends! He kept busy for three months, making some upgrades to the house and painting. He completed his Home Inspection Class and passed the exam with flying colors! He will have to inspect 50 houses before he can get his VA Inspection Certificate, so, in the meantime, he is working at Home Depot to keep busy.
I've been living in the Washington, DC area since September of 1974. I've been working for Capital One for 10 + years and loving it -- it's a very exciting place to be! Afraid I'm a bit of a workaholic in that regard, but hey, my daughter is long out of the house -- she's 31 now -- and I can always say no to babysitting my two granddaughters (Tianna is 5 and Lisey is nearl...Expand for more
y 2 now)!
We spend a lot of time with friends and family on weekends and plan to take annual/bi-annual trips to Europe -- a life-long dream of mine, also coming true! We went to Rome, Naples and Pompeii for our honeymoon in 2007, and visited Amsterdam this year along with Guy's sister, Lori and her now husband, Nico (they got engaged the first night there). Explored the city (mostly on foot) and took a day trip out to The Hague to visit the houses where Guy's family lived during the late '60's. We are hoping for a trip to England and Scotland next year to visit my relatives there and do a bit of exploring, but in this economy it may be 2010 before we're able to do that (without feeling guilty).
The last two years we have rented a cottage for a week at Skeleton Lake in Muskoka, Canada. The first time I went there with Guy was when we were 17 and still in high school. His parents owned a cottage there then. It's a very special annual trip for us both now.
