Clayton's Story
One month after we graduated, I left for Army basic training. Upon graduating from basic, I went to Airborne school to learn to jump out of perfectly good working airplanes. What was I thinking??? About 18 months after joining the Army, I was in Panama for Operation Just Cause. Only 6 months after returning from there, I was sent to the desert for 8 months for Desert Shield/Storm. hristmas in 1995, I was sent to Bosnia for a couple of months. Then in 2007, I was sent back to Iraq for a year to play in the giant sand box again. I have had 2 children with Charlotte (who I was dating my senior year at Gibbs) and will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in July this year. I have completed my AA in Business Management and getting ready to finally retire from the Army in a couple of years. In the over 20 years of service, I have been stationed at Fort Bragg, NC, Vicenza, Italy, and Fort Campbell, KY.
