Barbara's Story
Well here goes the short version......dated Richard Hoadley through high school, and 2 years after that, got engaged, attended Mt.Sac, got unengaged when RH went off to San Jose State, moved to the "Big City" with Marlys Marko, got engaged and married and moved to Woodland Hills in the San Fernando Valley. Was a Leasing Agent and Leasing Agent Training Director for R&B Management (Oakwood Apts in Toluca Lake and Woodland Hills) Had one daughter, got divorced after 6 years, still best friends with my ex. At our 20 year reunion met up with Richard Turrill. Was a Manager for Mayer Management in West Covina and Beverly Hills for 14 years. Rich and I lived in West Covina, L.A. and then moved to Mill Valley, in Marin County north of San Francisco. We had a wonderful relationship for over 25 years and he was "Poppy" to two beautiful, perfect granddaughters Kenna'B age 9 and Andie age 6. Sadly Richie lost his 3 year battle with cancer this past May 15th. I will miss him always. I still live in Mill Valley and have stayed in touch with Vivian (Lopez) Monroe and Marlys (Marko)Beck. Hope I didn't bore you with the"short version" can you imagine if I had gone into details????
Up-Date 6/2011 After 1 1/2 years from Rich's passing jumped back into the "single scene" Help...I'm too old for this one. But really, it has been an experience. Found out one thing....guys, no matter their age, will be guys. Realized I wasn't one to go solo, though quite capable to do so. Still working, as the Leasing Administrator...Expand for more
for a 200+ resort like property on Richardson Bay in Marin County. feel very fortunate, as I feel I'm on vacation every day. Go to the gym at least 3 times a week and really forget my age. That is, until I realize I have a daughter in her 40's. Still haven't found what I'm looking for (hey, isn't that a song verse?) in the relationship category .But with courage, faith , hope and a extra strong backbone, all of which you must have, will venture forward into ....................who knows what?
Up-date 4-24-15 - Still working at my "resort" on Richarsen Bay just north of San Francisco. Love it and can't imagine not being here. Most of my friends are "retired" but not me. My oldest granddaughter is now 13 and in a 4 girl rock band the "The Black Swanz" She plays keyboard. It's really fun to see them perform. My youngest Andi is a super skier and I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the Olympics someday. That little girl has "no fear". they are both beauties inside and out and I couldn't be more proud.
Still haven't found that special guy that I can imagine growing old with. In fact, it's hard for me to imagine growing old at all and realize that time is marching on. But having fun in the meantime with my retired baseball player. Who knows, we're so opposite but have been together for the past 3 years so maybe opposites do attract for some strange reason. Who knows what will come..........
Well that's a short up-date....Who can tell what the next one will bring.
Take Care,
Barbara
