Cliff's Story

Here's my story: After graduating in 1968 I remained living in Germany, traveling around and working odd jobs all over Europe. My Mom & Dad transferred down to Zarragosa, Spain, but I didn't move there with them. Visited them frequently but really wound up living in Paris, France until I left for back to the States. In Paris I was helping a friend of mine Michelle Nadeff start a Water-bed business. I was in and out of there for about four years or so. In 1975 I wound up clear over to Hawaii where I lived until 1982. In Hawaii I surfed, played and worked. It was there I started my Painting Contracting business, working large government project, and working on maintaining Communication Towers, some quite high up. I became a young hard working entrepreneur. After that I moved to the California, Santa Cruz and San Francisco areas, but soon wound up moving to Eugene, OR. My younger brother Tim was enrolled in the University of Oregon, and after visiting him here a few times I decided to move here and have been here ever since. Again I started up a Painting Contracting business and that's what I've done here since. I've been quite successful over the years, my company is called CDPI - Cliff Davis Painting, Inc. We do mostly large Commercial, Industrial and Custom Homes. Depending on work volume and seasons we employ anywhere from 10 - 40 people all year round. I married a gal back in 1988 and had my first and only child Tyler Jared Davis in 1989. Tyler is now 20 years old. My and his Mom sperated and devorced 8 years later. I stayed single for a number of years and 8 years ago I married again to my current wife and this time I got it right. I'm sure we'll be together until ojne of passes on, she's the love of my life, a great gal. In marrying her I inherited another 3 what I call bonus kids. Ben(24), a marine, been to Iraq and back and as we speak ready to deploy again to Afghanistan. Then there's Cole (21) who lives here in Eugene and has worked in my company. Then our girl Hailee (13), a delightful young lady going to school and the only one left in the home currently. My son Tyler (20) works in my company as well. My wife Toni is a manager at a grocery outlet, she loves her job, been in that business for 18 years. We are all busy. For fun we like to camp, travel, we have property in Mexico that we are planning on developing in the near future. We go down to Mexico several times a year. We have two yellow labs, 2 cats...Expand for more
. Several homes, we live in one, rent out one. I still like to play music, collect guitars and cars. I did finally (10 years ago) get my favorite vintage 1973 Corvette Stingray, restored it frame up, and it's a trophy winning car now that we show once and a while. A friend of mine and I are building a prowler body kit that will be patented, it's a great looking car a few months away from paint and completion and we plan on showing it at the Vegas Sema car show this or next year! Besides all of that we like to boat, fish, (I don't hunt), skydive, four wheel around the sand dunes, just lots of stuff. We are busy living life! For those of you who might have known my parents, especially my Father who taught at K-Town: my Father and Mother moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1982. My Mother now 81 still resides there, my Father died in 1992 at age 68 from colon cancer. He was as healthy as ever, always ran every day except for Sundays, was never sick and never went to a doctor, even though my Mom, who was a nurse by profession always told him he should. Colon cancer was discovered and it was too late to save him. He died within a year after diagnosis,a horrible death and tragedy for our family. We love and miss him still tremendously. He was a great man. We visit my Mom at least once a year and she comes here to visit us as often. She's getting older and we are trying to convince her to move here to Oregon, but she does like the warmer Phoenix weather, we'll see. My brother is now 52 and lives in Seattle and works as a fire-fighter. I am going to be 60 this year, I'm planning on retiring in a few years and spending more time in warmer climates, traveling back to Europe with my wife and whoever, visiting some of my old haunts. I have never been back since I left over there in 1975. One of my best friends in K-Town was Bob Hubbard. He lives with his family in Coquille, Or and we see each other now and then. We love to sit around and talk about old times. It's been real interest joining Classmates.com and seeing some of the names coming up. I hope to connect with those that want to and I'm also hoping to make it down to this years reunion. That will have to do for now. We have several web sites that would give you more insight into our lives, business and Mexico Property ventures. I was going to leave them here but apparently that's not allowed here. If anyone is further interested I can get these passed around somehow. Chow for now...
