Life
So, there I was, surrounded by communists, wearing nothing but a Christian-Slater-doing-his-best-Jack-Nicholson grin, a Bolivian machete between my teeth. Nudity makes the communists uncomfortable, and I had taken that into account before I leapt from the helicopter.

I work for the government, and write poetry. Poetry may not have actually saved my life, but it did give it much quality.
I almost died on a submarine once. It was cool.
Craig Carpenter might be the greatest American that ever lived. All them Carpenters, really.
