Clifford's Story
Life
I was born on 9/24/53, in Glenridge, NJ. At age two, my family moved to Randolph, NJ where I lived until age 12. In the summer of 1966, my dad decided to leave the hussle and bussle of NJ and we moved to the great town of Morris, NY. I lived there until 1982. I attended Morris Central School there from 7th grade until graduation in 1972. Morris was a great town to grow up in! From there I went to SUNY at Oneonta to study Pre-Med (Pre-med wasn't for me!). I then transferred to Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY. I graduated with an AAS degree in Banking/Insurance. After that, I returned to SUNY Oneonta and graduated with a BS in Business/Economics. I have had a number of jobs over the years, the first which lead to my interest and career in computer software. I worked for Wilber National Bank in Oneonta, NY from 1975 - 1978. I then took a job as a senior programmer/analyst with Preferred Mutual Insurance in New Berlin, NY. I quickly realized that upstate NY wasn't going to offer me the career in software that I wanted, so in 1982 I relocated to Rutland, Mass. and took a job with Paul Revere Ins. Co. I was there almost 9 years and decided to try my hand at consulting. I joined CSC Consulting, based out of Newton, Mass. I traveled extensively, working in many parts of the US. Finally, in 1996, I got an opportunity to move to Colorado--a 25 year dream. Since that time, I was an Account Manager with CSC Consulting, in Greenwood Village, CO. I am now a Program Director with CSC Consulting, working for clients. I have three children from my first marriage. They are Casey-40, Tyler-36 (desceased), and Whitney-33. Casey lives in Massachusetts and is working as an EMT there. Tyler worked for Amphenol in Sidney, NY, however was killed in a motorcycle accident in August of 2008. Whitney graduated from Binghamton University, majoring in Nursing. Whitney is working at Kaiser Permenante in Oakland, CA as a RN in a Cardio Cath Lab. I also have a 21 year old son, Andrew, from my second marriage, who lives in Englewood, CO and recently engaged. I was divorced, but have been fortunate to marry my high school girlfriend, who has always been the love of my life. I moved back to upstate NY during the fall of 2005, to spend more time being closer to my 3 children from my first marriage, and the rest of my family, who now live in Massachusetts. I am interested in finding Randolph and MCS Class of 72 Alumni, so please email me. Had a great MCS 30th Reunion in June of 2002 and an awesome 45th reunion with my former Randolph classmates in 2017. If one is creative, one could find me and write. Try my name, Cliff Costello, with an underscore in between, and would be at the place where mail is hot. If you can figure it out, say hello! It would be really cool to...Expand for more
find old friends.
School
I attended elementary school in Randolph, NJ. I loved living there and missed it tremendously when my parents moved me to a po-dunk town in upstate NY. I attended Morris Central School for Jr. High and High School. Eventually I became a redneck and fit in (LOL)!!
I have fond memories of both Randolph Elementary and Morris Central schools. I have been blessed by many friendships made then, and still have to this day.
While in high school in Morris, NY, I met the love of my life at summer camp. Sharon (Sheri) Eggler, from Oneonta was the sweetest girl I have ever known in my life. After kinda drifting apart back in 1970, I found her again (a whole series of events that just fell into place after my divorce). We were both at the same points in our lives, and both know what we want from another going forward. I can not begin to tell you how lucky I am to have found my high school sweetheart once again. I've dreamed about her for years .... and never let her die in my heart. And I have been blessed with having her once again in my life. We both plan on staying together the rest of our lives and married in 2012. I love her so very much!!!
College
I went to SUNY at Oneonta, NY for my freshman year (that was a disaster!!). I then went to Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY for an Associates Degree in Banking/Insurance. As if I hadn't had enough, I returned to SUNY, Oneonta, NY to finish my bachelors in Business / Economics. Then, I got a career in software. Go figure!!!!
Workplace
Out of college I went to work for Wilber National Bank. I was first in a Management Trainee Program, working in the Trust Dept. Then I was offered an opportunity with computers at Wilber, that changed my career. In 1978 I went to work for Preferred Mutual Ins. Co. as an Analsyst/Programmer. Wanting to relocate, I then moved Massachusetts and began a job with Paul Revere Ins. Co. as an Analyst Programmer. I held a number of titles there from Analyst Programmer to Project Manager, but then decided to move into a software consulting career. I joined CSC Consulting in Oct. of 1990 in Boston, MA. In 1996, I moved with CSC Consulting to Denver Colorado area. I left CSC from 1999 to 2002 and worked for another software consulting firm, Covansys. I rejoined CSC Consulting in August of 2002 as a Program Director and Project Manager for numerous clients. I left CSC Consulting in 2016 to join a former division of CSC, now split off and part of General Dynamics Information Technology. I no longer travel around the country and working as a Program/Project Manager, managing numerous projects for a large state Medicaid contract, I should be retired by now, but thanks to 2 divorces, and actually enjoying my job, I keep on going like the Energizer Bunny!!!
