Clifford's Story

I always wanted to be a Ob/Gyn Dr. when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right, but things' didn't turn out that way. I was really board in high school, so I tested out in the Spring of 1972, with the Govt. went into the Air Force, became an aircrew member on AC-130 Gunships, and went to Vietnam, where on the 29 of April 1975, during an operation called "Frequent Wind," I was injured and after a few months (Feb/1976) I was sent back to the U.S. to a base in New Mexico. I stayed in the Air Force until 1978, after I had completely recovered, yea right, and was medically discharged. Worked a few government contracts, until I went to work for Delta in 82. After a few years with Delta, I became a General Manager for American Airlines. In the late 80's I started to loose vision in my Rt. eye, due to the injury, so I resigned from A.A., and went to college. I was lucky. Living in Waco the only College, besides the CC, was Baylor University. I...Expand for more
graduated Baylor in 1993 ( 21 yrs after HS ) with a BS in Secondary Education. After, about 10 years, and a few hundred HS students later, I decided to go back to college again. Was accepted to grad school at Tarleton State. I went during the weekends and during the summers, and recieved my MS in Education Administration from Tarleton State, and my Principal's Cert. I was accepted into the Doctorate program in 2003, but was unable to finish. My injuries had gotten the best of me and my Dr.s' retired me. So, in 2005, I had to quit working, Uncle Sam said I had to stop. So here I am 5 wives, 8 children, and 3 grandchildren later but, lovin' ever minute of it. I never stopped singing and writing music (R&R & Blues) had lots of fun playing and meeting various musicians (some famous, some not so famous) I'm currently doing a solo project and, hopefully, will have it ready to be released by Fall 2009.. As of this time July 2011, I'm running for the Texas House of Representatives, District 56, in 2012
