Clifford's Story
I hope old friends just remember me. Being pretty much a loner, I don't think I made much of an impression on classmates.
After two years at Humboldt State, I married Shari Buffington. We have two daughters and four grandchildren, all pretty much grown. And yes, I'm including the daughters in that assessment!
We moved to Portland, OR in 1966, and on to Washington State in 1969. I worked for newspapers in circulation management positions until 1973, when my wife and I opened a bookstore in Longview, WA. By 1978 we had two full service stores and three...Expand for more
used book outlets in two cities. In 1981 we sold out and started our 'nomad' lives.
Since then, we've lived in Reno,NV & Phoenix,AZ. In 1986 we started a new career, managing hotels in Houston,TX,
Jackson Hole,WY, Kirkland, Vancouver,& Port Townsend, WA and now in Newport, OR.
It's the closest to retirement I may ever get, since I still get paid for doing something I enjoy in and get housing and utilities included!
We've traveled some, enjoying the Bahamas, Jamaica and most recently an Alaskan cruise. We plan to do a lot more in the near future.
