Clyde (Tad)'s Story
My classmates knew me by my proper name Clyde, but since I was a year old I was known to my family and neighborhood friends as "Tad". After graduation from Mapleton I went to CU Boulder then Texas A&I in Kingsville TX. and studied Mechanical engineering, later settling in Houston Texas working for Bechtel Engineering. In 1978 I left the corporate world to start my own contract machining company and did well till the great oil bust of the mid 80's.

lecting antiques into a second career. This decision quickly led me to enter the auction business and I attended Worldwide College of Auctioneering and became an auctioneer. I later obtained my CAI designation at the University of Indiana and I now own Best Of The West Auctions, a nationally recognized auction company (with a huge internet presence) specializing in Art and Fine Estates.
I love music and attend as many live concerts and music festivals as possible. I especially love attending the Telluride festival...the musical highlight of my year!
I have 3 daughters and I raised 2 step daughters, I now have 6 grand children and am divorced.
