Cody's Story

School Life at school early on was nothing like life at school later. I went from being hardly noticed to being very well known. Still, there are more important things than popularity. We planted gardens, created videos, protested laws, played sports, burned Chem room ceilings, Learned other languages, Learned how to dress, learned how not to dress, and found how to write and speak from our hearts. Mustang at heart. Sun Devil by Profession. -------------- Park Dale Lane. Remember the Younger, Fat kid in the back of class reading all the time? The one who spent all his time in the Library because he didn't get picked on there? That was me. -- I doubt anyone would remember that person if it was not for Cody Dollars handed out when I tried to run for Treasurer (and was beaten by someone who actually would do the job well). Except the younger kids... they all liked me. ---------------- Diegueño Jr. High. Remember the Tall Skinny Kid who wore his hat backwards, but was still made fun of by bullies for it? The kid who couldn't do a mile in 10 minutes, but always tried? The Kid who took comfort in blue baggy flannel, endured being one of the skinniest on the frosh football team, and was the last to know when someone had a crush on him? that also was me. -- Jr. high teaches us many lessons. I learned the true meaning of friendship by those I met in those days. They stuck with me forever. ------------------ San Dieguito High School. From Casey Junior to Amnesty International, Getting kicked out of Acting to Join SD Live. Eventually everyone knew my name. It turns out that the guy who stands for something gets noticed after all. -- But I also learned how little getting noticed matters. And I made many mistakes along the way, many decisions to learn from. Truly some of the best years of my life. -------------------- San Dieguito Academy. Part of the First ever Graduating class. e school ever had. A year of Friendships, New ideas, and change. We were the youth who left San Diego to go change the world. -- It is hard to hold true to anything these days. But my senior year made me the best friendships I ever had. From the AV room to Government to Econ to the Beach, (Not to mention our many trips to see friends at LCC), The first year of the Academy gave us the doors we walked through to make us who we are. --------------- I suppose that thus far, this Bio sounds like a poorly written after school special. Well, let's move forward in time, shall we? College I never did go to the University of Minneapolis, if anyone was wondering. Though I could have gotten scholarships had I never left, I couldn't get a scholarship to a 4 year after coming back from living in Central America, So I started at Mira Costa, Until I transferred to ASU (Arizona State University), major party school, though I didn't have much time for partying. I eventually figured out I was going after the wrong major, so I left. That was when they told me they never qualified me for residency, and I owed them out of state tuition. Lacking the funds to pay for something as grand as that, I had to go back to Community College while I helped my Family get back on their feet. I figured I'd minor in everything. While there, I started working in the tech lab. This experience would become useful later. Eventually, finishing college got put on hold, and I moved back to Arizona, this time for family reasons. I took a couple of odd jobs before I began working Technical Support for an internet service provider. After five years of this, I made one of the best transitions I could have: Working for SonicWALL as Technical Support for Corporate firewalls. SonicWALL would later be purchased by Dell to become Dell-SonicWALL. Meanwhile, after much dating and ultimately unsuccessful relationships, I ended up marrying an old friend, Rachel Rodgers. Today we have a beautiful daughter.
