Kelly's Story
Life
My Spouse
Ok, don't laugh. I met him on the internet. We were both members of a CompuServe roleplaying games forum (and before you get any kinky ideas, it was innocent Star Trek games! <g>). I enjoyed his writing style and we began corresponding. We'd known each other for about 8 months when I had the opportunity to visit New York, where he lived. It was love at first sight! We married on October 24, 1998.
My Pets
*My* cat is a pure black American Standard; her name is Bagheera. She is a proper cat: aloof (well, most of the time). My daughter's cat is a tiger-striped part Abbysinian named Tiger, who is dumb as a rock. Her dog, a Sheltie named Max, is only slightly smarter. Of course, they're both so friendly they can be smothering at times.
My Kids
Megan passed through the teen years, and survived. So did I. We're both amazed.
Mackenzie is my angel. She was born on Christmas eve 2000, but died four days later.
I love them both ...Expand for more
very very much.
My Job
I'm a programmer and database administrator at a small private college in Upstate New York.
College
How can a person possibly go to college for just four years? There's just too much interesting stuff to learn.
I had many majors before finally getting a degree in Computer and Information Science, including Math, Biology, Sociology and English. I also attended several schools including Roosevelt University, College of DuPage and Northeastern Illinois University.
I'd go back to school and get a few more degrees if I had the time and money.
If I won $100 million, I'd give a whole lot of it of it to all my favorite art-related charities, then spend the rest on getting out of debt, building my new house and retirement.
My first job was at Hild Regional Branch of the Chicago Public Library system, where I got paid $4.25/hr to shelve books. What I remember most about it is how completely wonderful it was to be around so many books!
