Colleen's Story
Well, I'm trying hard to "reconcile' the fact that it's been almost 50 years since High school. Why does it seem like it was only yesterday?
We graduated on Thursday night and I got married on Friday night. I've been married for 47 years, now.
I had four children, three boys and one girl and I was a housewife for 15 years when I decided to go to college and become an RN. I worked in hospitals for almost 30 years when I retired a couple of years ago to take care of my Mother who had Alzheimer's and came to live with me.
I got into Genealogy and love the hobby. I love to fish and try to get away to Branson, MO several times a year to do that. I quilt, but have never made anything larger than a baby quilt. I do rubber stamping and make all of my own cards. I handmak...Expand for more
e 60 cards every Christmas. I love to garden, but since I can no longer get down on my hands and knees, my husband does the planting for me. And I love to travel, but not by airplane. I have motion sickness so I do all my traveling by car. I have been from Canada to Mexico and love getting off the main highways and seeing the country on the back roads. I am a voracious reader and will read anything from history to murder mysteries. I have lived within a five mile radius of Capitol Hill High school for the past 50 years. I plan on attending our 50th Highschool reunion even though I've gotten as fat as a butter ball. I decided who could possibly care after all these years? I'm working on lots of High school buddies to go with me. So, hope to see you all there.
