Colleen's Story
Okay, so to make short work of the last 18 years, I left high school, went to college, decided I liked to travel more than writing papers, so I did. Came back (to L.A.), got two jobs--one teaching preschool and the other as a bank teller. Loved both, but decided teaching was more rewarding. Meanwhile, I met my husband, who is absolutely the best person I've ever known, and still is. Marrying him meant moving to San Diego (since he's in the Navy) and I love it here. Immediately started having children. First Caitlin, then Jordan, then Joshua, Micah, and Rebecca. Yes, with the excption of Caitlin, they are biblical names. a couple of Associates degrees, dealt with an often deployed husband, and survived cancer. Getting older now (or so they tell me), not slowing down any, and having a great time. Christian, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, dancer, musician, you name it, we participate in it or volunteer for it! As I've learned, life is short and my to-do list is long, so we LIVE every day. What an adventure! I just transferred to CSU San Marcos and I'm really looking forward to earning my Bachelors there, another check on my list! We retire from the Navy in less than three years and that will bring yet another adventure to us. I've enjoyed looking up some of my old friends here and I wish you well in whatever you do.
