Concetta's Story
Hello to all,
It seems like a lifetime ago since St. Venantius and Orange High:)
I will be celebrating my 33 Wedding anniversary this July.
I have three children, 2 girls and one boy and 3 boisterous grandsons from my eldest daughter.
My son is now safely on "Hallow" ground after 5 years of active duty in the army, 101st Airborne and 2 year long tours, one to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. He now has a well-deserved chance to finish his education on Uncle Sam's dime:)
My eldest is an operating room nurse and my middle daughter has a degree in business management and marketing and helps in my husband's business. I am very proud of all of them.
My 2 years of high school spanish came in very handy, as my mother-in-law comes from Uruguay and does not speak English to this day:) Between her, and other family members and visits to Uruguay, I have become fluent in the lanquage and am now learning Italian which is so similar in grammar and vocabulary it is easy. I only wish my grandfather was alive so I could converse with him in it:)
We purchased my family home in Orange when my parents moved to Florida in 1979. We moved to Sussex County when m...Expand for more
y eldest gradutated from St. Joseph's in 1986. We still owned and rented out the Orange residence up until 3 years ago, when the State took over Matthew St and quite a few other blocks to expand Lincoln Ave School. I went by the old area a few weeks ago, and it was very sad to see it that way.
We live on 6 1/2 acres situated near the Kittatiny Mtns, in Sussex County, NJ, complete with barn:) We used to have farm animals too, when the kid's were small: chickens, pigs, goats,a beef cow and the requisite quarter horse, but it was no longer feasable when I went back to work full time. We now operate a nursery on the property to cover our farmland assessment. My hubby is building a new chicken coop, so we will be able to enjoy fresh eggs again. After living here for 23 years, I could never go back to city living again.
I have been working for the Post office for the past 17 years, and was able to transfer 10 minutes from my home as a window clerk 10 years ago. I also enjoy creative writing, mostly fiction and articles. I look forward to retiring in another 5-10 years and traveling and working on my novel, unless I hit the lottery sooner:)
