Connie's Story
I have been a busy person. I am a single mom raising 3 sons on my own ages 22, 18, and 12. I had a little set back in life but I Survived cancer ( Non-Hodgkins lymphoma). When I was done with all my treatments I Continued my education by becoming a beautician, Nursing assistant, Medical assistant, Emergency Medical Technician and Graduated from Moraine Valley Community College as a Medical Coder this past May "2008". I have just been accepted to Governors State University to persue my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplanary Studies.

. Life took another twist on me ... The drugs that were used to cure my cancer also caused nerve damage to my inner ear therefore resulting in permanent hearing loss to both ears. I never let that stop me in any way.... in fact it made me stronger to strive harder in life and appreciate the things that I "DO" have. I took up sign language, and chose a different career path .. and watch tv with closed captions.... no big deal!!!... someone helped save my life and now I am out there helping save others!!!..... I just hope someday (soon preferably) that a nice gentleman will come along to share the rest of my life with.....
