Connie's Story
I'm still married to the love of my life, Merv Wright. We were married in 1971, so that makes it almost 39 years! Merv is now retired, but worked for the Merced Schools for 35 years as a psychologist and administrator. I earned my CPA license & worked as a city finance director for 29 years, and am now retired as well.
We have three gorgeous daughters who have enriched our lives so much. Our oldest daughter lives in DC with her husband & 4-yr old daughter, & is pregnant with her second girl. ives with her husband in the Bay area. She will complete her PhD in genetics at Stanford this summer. Our third daughter is engaged to be married in July 2011 and also lives in the Bay area. She has just finished her Masters in Counseling Psychology.
We are enjoying retired life, and are lucky enough to have good health. We enjoy traveling to see our kids and the country. Since Merv was raised in Africa, we traveled there a few years ago so I could see where he lived. It was quite an experience! We now have a wedding to plan, and since I designed & made both my daughters' wedding dresses, I'll be making Marla's. Such fun!
