Connie's Story
I wanted to post that my beautiful daughter Janie passed away on September 28, 2008 at Cincinnati Children's Hospital with friends and family around her-we miss her tremendously, but know that she is not suffering or affected by the horrible osteosarcoma that consumed her the last 2 years of her life-I am leaving my original story on here in case it helps someone else!!! Thank you to everyone who came to the funeral or have sent cards!!!
Hey everyone!!! I graduated in 1986 with a crazy group of people!!! I can't believe we've been out of school this long-I went on the graduate from Rio Grande Community College in 1989 with 3 years of college and an associate's degree in word processing/legal secretary, got married then got divorced!!! I remarried in 1995 and live in Oak Hill Ohio with my husband and 2 beautiful children!!! I went back to college in 2002 and graduated with my nursing degree in 2004!!! ston Tx. temporarily because my 13 year old daughter, Janie was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her left leg last March and we are getting cancer treatment out here; she had a total knee replacement and major leg surgery to save her leg last year and then this march we found out that it has come back in her same leg and now is in her right lung!!! We were going to Cincinnati Childrens and decided to come out here to get treatment to save her life!!! We will be out here until July and might have to come back for lung surgery-this is a common teenage cancer and only 400 teenagers will get it a year-it is bone cancer and is nothing hereditary-it started out with her knee hurting her-so please take your children's pains serious-we didn't think it was anything but a sports injury, but now it can take her life!! I didn't mean to go into all of this, but hopefully some of my friends from Eastern will read this and know what we are going through!!! We have a strong faith in God and know he is going to heal us!!! Please remember my family in your prayers!!
