Connie's Story
Hello All,
Put your reading glasses on and grab a cup of coffee. . .
I've had many, many jobs over the past 38 years: In Akron I worked as a bank teller, escrow officer, sales rep for title company, waitress at Chi-Chi's, and a bookkeeper, most while attending Akron University. In 1983 I moved to California and worked as a sales rep for health industry, admin. ass't. for computer company, software/hardware support rep... then in 1998, I "woke up" and decided to buy a small business.
My husband and I now own a restaurant and bar called The Bambi Inn located in Butte Meadows, CA (about 45 minutes NE of Chico, CA.
Our restaurant is located in the middle of Lassen National Forest and we are loving it! The elevation here is 4,350 ft. so the summers are warm (avg 80 deg) and the winters can be very cold and lots of snow (reminds me of Akron). re, but it's all worth it not being in the "rat race" any longer. The only downfall is that our home is on the same property as our business so I can no longer call in "sick" with car trouble (lol).
We both own quads for summertime enjoyment and snowbiles for wintertime fun. About 5 miles up the road, we have 60 miles of groomed trails to ride our snowmobiles, and in the summertime, there are endless roads to ride our quads. There's a great deal of history in this area.
I'm extremely happy with where I am in life and have been with my soulmate for 10 years.
I have three regrets: getting married way too young; not finishing my college degree; and not keeping in touch with all the wonderful people and friends in my past from grade school and high school...
I've made my share of "mistakes" over the past 38 years, but my Mother always said "It's ok, as long as you learn from them". I'm so smart now, I can't stand myself (LOL)
Well that's it in a nutshell. I look forward to hearing from all of my long lost friends . . .
