Connie's Story
Life
No way... we can't all be middle aged now! I know that for me... I look "younger than Springtime"... while some days definitely feel my advancing years... :) So I currently am living in Oceanside with my Mom, and 6 cats... still single, no kids with lots of dreams yet to fulfill! A Born Again Christian and confirmed night owl with a largely artistic nature who has been working in temp job limbo for the past 6 years until just recently... my ultimate career goal to be part of Hobie Cat Corporate's marketing/advertising department... where I could make wonderful use of my B.A. in English, (Thanks to the inspiration of sub teacher: Steve Norton Smith) ;) and extreme writing talents... I love to read voraciously, swim, write poetry, create bead jewelry and play Sims2! I've worked as a senior lab tech for 16 years at Hughes Aircraft, 4.5 years as a graphic designer, and now am surviving the abysmal San Diego county economy by doing admin/reception/customer service work... Pretty crazy after spending 13 years working full-time and completing my B.A. and Paralegal Certification... huh? I am a happy survivor of two surgeries for benign brai...Expand for more
n tumors... and still have a small one that needs to be monitored annually with an MRI... I am indeed extremely blessed to only have lost hearing in my right ear and retain a slight balance loss along with a small short-term memory loss... What did I just say...? (kidding!) I love all types of music from R&B (my favorite being Luther Vandross), jazz, classical, country, new age, world/international (Africa has the most beautiful and haunting melodies) to some of the American Idol contestants... Melinda Dolittle ROCKS!
Also a huge movie buff and love some TV shows: The Unit, Frasier, Close To Home, Sopranos (edited version), The Riches!, Boston Public, CSI Miami, Cold Case, American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance... :) I still am good friends with Debbie, David and Dennis Halverson who also went to Wilson and were my best friends/neighbors as we were growing up in Long Beach... It's a blast to come here and "see" everyone along with discovering how our lives have evolved and where we think we're headed... Hope to hear from some of you and remember to cherish your family & friends... as they are the real treasure in your life! Ciao!
