Connie's Story
Connie is from Sanford Community, Georgia. I went to Ila Elementary from 1956 to 1964. She has been married to Larry Whiting from Phoenix since 1977. I attended Madison County High School and graduated in 1968. I worked at the University as the Office Manager in the Chemistry Department from 1976-1978 where I met my husband while he was completing his PhD in Chemistry. We moved to Midland, Michigan in 1978 where we lived for 19 years before moving to Texas where we lived for 10 years. While there I worked for The Dow Chemical Company until around 1990 and have been an incredibly blessed woman by God (& my husband) to allow me to live such a lazy life. A really huge part of my life was when I was delivered from alcoholism at the age of 34. AA saved my life. But the biggest and best part of my life was on December 29, 1989 when I became a born again Christian at the point of the deepest darkest time of my life. My interests include going to Amusement Parks (roller coasters are my favorite), Sewing, running other peoples lives, volunteering, making lemonade :) . Music I like includes The Gaithers, The Martins, David Elijah (contemporary Christian rock - American Fork, Utah) Praise & Worship, Hillsong, David Moen. Books she likes include Bible, The Girlfriend Life, Cynthia Tobias, James Dobson, anything by Max Lucado, Pastors Robert Morris (The Blessed Life) , Chip Ingram, J Allen Jackson (Intend Ministries). Movies she likes include Shrek, Smilla's Sense of Snow (film), The Rumor of Angels. TV shows she likes include Jane and the Dragon, Not a Fan, MI5, Magic Schoolbus, The Guardian, Person of Interest, Elementary.)
