Connie's Story
After graduation from Crescent Valley High School in 1976. I stayed in Corvallis for almost two (2) years working. I left Oregon and moved to South Dakota and started working for the government at an school named Flandreau Indian School in 1978. I later attended Utah State University after leaving South Dakota and moving to Utah while still working for the government at an school named Intermountain Intertribal School. I came back to Oregon in 1983 and continued to work for the government at an school named Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon. I have been at Chemawa for thirty-three (33) years now. Chemawa is an Off Reservation Boarding (ORBS) school under the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) . I have been very involved in Union work for over thirty (30) years being an local steward. At this time I am the FISE BIE Representations/FISE Board Member for the Federation of Indian Service Employees Local 4524. This is an elected position I just finished an three (3) year term and I have just won my position in the election for an second Three (3) year term. I live in Salem, Oregon. Because of this position I travel a lot within the agencies and states I represent..
I have two (2) children a girl twenty-three (23) and a boy Twenty (20). They are out on their own. They are both doing very well with their jobs and life. My daughter got married last year and is very happy. I think my son-in-law is great.
Books I like to read including John Grisham, Ann Rule, Danielle Steel. Movies I like include Action and Comedy, TV shows the only soap I keep up with is the Young and the Restless, I really like Lifetime moves. However, I really don't have much time to read other between my flights from state to state.
I have been married a few times and divorced.
