Connie's Story
Life
Hi....I have been married for 34+ years to David Cornell. He is a wonderful man who works as a DHS supervisor (child welfare) and spends his free time remodeling our house. We live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
We have 3 children, most of which are now adults. Our oldest daughter, Mandy, is 31. She, unfortunately, had some problems at birth and is mentally handicapped (about 2 mentally), has cerebral palsy, and epilepsy.
Our second daughter, Grace, is 24. She was married to a fellow from our neighborhood who was in the Navy. They had our first grandchild (Leah). Leah was born in May, 2005. They lived in Florida. Unfortunately, Grace's husband was tragically killed March, 2007 while working with Department of Transportation. He was hit by a car. He had been out of the Navy for a few months at that time. ght a nice little house about 2 miles from us. Leah will be 4 years old in May. Grace has a second daughter named Kyra who was born July 31st of this year.
Our youngest child is a son named Paul. He is 17 years old, a senior who plays the baritone in the Pride marching band. This is his 4th year with them. The Pride of Broken Arrow won the National Championship in November 2006, beating out 92 other high school bands as they performed in RCA dome in Indianapolis.
When I was 40, I went back to college. At age 45, I graduated with a degree in nursing. I am an RN at a large Tulsa hospital. I really enjoy it, but it can be stressful.
We have about several pets One dog (an Irish Setter named Verne), 2 cats (Shadow and Pixie), and some fish.
