Constance's Story
Life
I'm an "Army brat" and moved every year. I attended schools in Oklahoma, NC, FL, KS, TX. I have degrees from the U of Utah and BYU. I have been married for 27 years and have five children (19, 21, 24, 24, 26). Now that they are grown, I'm ready to do something fun! My husband and I live part-time in Salt Lake City and part-time in Pfyn, Switzerland. My favorite thing to do is to read and to write. I have published book reviews, articles, and a book. Although I haven't kept track of high school friends, I wish I knew where they all are now! I have taught German at the University of Utah and BYU and am almost finished writing my dissertation in comparative literature at the U of Utah. Something boring about Polish poetry in post-war Silesia. I thought it was interesting once . . . ! tary, and mysteries. Except for my oldest daughter, who is a social worker, the others are at university studying political science, psychology, computer engineering, and journalism. I am very proud of them, but now that I'm not needed :-) -- and after passing 50 -- I am trying to find a role in the rest of my life. My brother is getting married in eastern Switzerland in June, so I am looking forward to that event. A couple of weeks ago I was in Umatilla for the funeral of my grandfather. I drove by Eustis High School and was amazed to see all the renovations. A couple of years ago, we drove with our children to see Ft. Leavenworth and my old haunts: the house, the high school, the hospital where I worked. It brought back a lot of nice memories. I am thinking of registering for an Arabic class. It would seem to be an important language and culture to understand right now. Well, I'd love to hear from anyone of you.
