Corey's Story
Life
My junior year at Rim I took the construction class, I was always interested in that as a kid, I thought it was cool to build things. I got a part time job framing houses working half days and doing the construction thing at the school the other half. I worked full time my senior year building and did Mountain High School 1 night a week. Out of High Scool I worked for a few builders up here doing custom homes, Ron Doleman, John Bueller, among a few others. We worked on the first house in Cedar Ridge when the roads were dirt. The last job I did working for someone else was the Church of the Woods. After that I got my General Contractor license in 1986. I did many jobs, all on the mountain, custom decks, foundations, framing, remodels. I always had a problem with the plans. Most architects dont know what works in real life. The projects I am most proud of is the 8 houses I had drawn the plans for. I took what I learned in Drafting class at Rim from Mr. Britt and applied it. I did the p...Expand for more
lans to the carpet for 8 houses. That was fun but that buisness took a toll on my mind and body, and my marriage.
My first marriage to Alida ended in 1991, no kids. I met my second wife Lisa in 1993 and she had Seana age 2 when I met her. We have had 2 more girls Sandy born in 1995 and Anne born in 2001 so I have 3 Girls and I am happily married. I have been working at 24 hour fitness now for 10 years, I'm a District technician manager, we take care of the facilities in 12 clubs from the pools to the treadmills and I travel around the IE from Upland to Indio, and we live in VOE. I have not left the mountain since High Scool. My job is pretty cool and I make enough so the wife doesnt have to work...at a job anyway, she works harder than I do taking care of the kids and the house and me. I like playing golf as much as I can. I still ride the trails up here on my dirt bike. We love living up here and plan on staying a long time. My Mom still lives in the house in Twin Peaks where we grew up.
