Corinne's Story
Life
I was born a poor sharecroppers' child...
Seriously, my life has turned out differently than I would have expected. The biggest surprise is that I still live in La Porte, although I did live in South Bend and Kalamazoo, Michigan, for short periods of time. Now I'm counting the days until retirement so I can finally live somewhere else -- either a condo in Chicago with a view of the lake, or on a quiet lake in the woods somewhere - I can't decide. I've been married more than once, but I am now happily married to my soul mate and best friend (we've been together over 16 years now) and I have three truly outstanding children. My oldest son is a Purdue grad with two master's degrees, happily married, and is an instructor at IUPUI in Indianapolis; my talented daughter earned her ba...Expand for more
chelor's degree in philosophy at Millikin University in Illinois, recently finished her 2 years of Peace Corps service in Senegal, West Africa, and is now working toward a nursing degree; and my brilliant youngest son is a busy junior Music Ed/Music Composition major at Valparaiso University. I have a great job working as a web developer/designer. My husband, Eric, and I enjoy boating on Lake Michigan, attending Purdue football games, traveling, and laughter. I am a 7 year breast cancer survivor, bringing a whole new perspective to my life. The biggest lesson I learned was not to sweat the small stuff. (And hair really does grow back!) I also try really hard to be kind, but sometimes it's really difficult with all the morons lurking about. :) I'm obviously still a work in progress.
