Corrinne's Story
Married Jim, a Fontana telephone lineman/Army veteran, in Las Vegas, NV (1960) and followed him to the University of Texas. Upon graduation we joined the Central Intelligence Agency and led a 26 year adventurous life in places like Bolivia, Ecuador, Berlin, Germany, Iran (during the revolution) and Austria. When not on international assignment we lived on a farm in Maryland, where I founded and operated Peppermint Mill Farm, a candy manufacturing and marketing business with a mall outlet store and national accounts. Following CIA retirement we moved to Lima, Peru for five years, and then on to my husband's work assignments in Indonesia, Colombia, and Argentina. of Maryland, and the Engineering University of Peru, from which I also obtained a degree, and have become fluent in Spanish, Farsi, and German. Adventures along the way have included: hiking in the Andes; vacations in the Alps; diving in the Red Sea; cruising the Aegean including Ephesus; touring Israel; having my house machine gunned early one morning; holding off rioters attempting to scale my back wall with a pistol and hand grenade; having the windows blown out of my apartment by a terrorist bomb; swimming with a herd of sea horses off the Ecuadorian coast; visiting Machu Picchu and, at age 55, going through a parachute training course with the Peruvian army. At present we are gracefully retired to a historical home and farm in the Texas Hill Country town of Hamilton.
