Courtney's Story
Life
Boozhoo!
Was born in Fort Smith Ar. 6/9/54
In 1959 my family moved to G. R. after much traveling around as an Army brat.
That same year my formal education started at Fountain school.
In February of 1964 saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan.
Started another education at that point, just a little less formal.
Started Central High in the Fall of 1966, the same fall that "Revolver" by the Beatles was released.
One Sunday morning in the Fall of 1967 I first heard Jimi Hendrix emanating from my transistor radio that was tuned into WCFL in Chicago, while delivering papers in the 100 block of Prospect N.E.
Beat my younger brother up a couple times. Often for no good reason. Then in the summer of 69 he came back from Florida taller than me and I no longer had any good or bad reason to attempt it anymore.
Last time I saw my older brother George Benge was in the fall of 1973. He'...Expand for more
s still around just making some wacky choices. Oh well, "isnt that the way it goes".
Met my wife Bonnie in 1992 while getting physical doing aerobics at "Annes Body Shop" on Jefferson S.E. in downtown GR.
Married Bonnie in the Fall of 1995.
Had a daughter (Lois Taylor Biggs)in May of 1998.
I got to stay home and raise her for five years, and that was the best formal education I will ever receive. Got acquainted with Winnie the Pooh, the Teletubbies and all that, while I introduced her to Gustav Holst, Georgia O Keefe and Sesame Street.
Proud of my tenure as the Biggs Guy (Bigsky) at WYCE for 13 years.
My show followed the Dave Wise show on Sunday nights. What a time that was.
Proud to have been the son of Evelyn L. Choate (Biggs), and equally proud to be maternally White Earth Anishinabe, and Oklahoma Cherokee, and oh yeah english and irish on my fathers side.
