Coy's Story
Ran cross country and track. Ran as number one man on the first ever Northern league championship team, had a lot of really good runners and personalities on the team (Thom Trimble, Jim Flint, Dave Kurtze, Brian St. Aubin, Steve Onaga, Mike Bryan, George Karimitsos, Mark Ball, and Jim Childress. Ran the mile and two mile in track, was the Northern league champion in the two mile my senior year. Had a lot of fun hanging out with just about all the different groups of kids at Righetti. Went on to Hancock where I studied and ran cross country and track. Our cross country team won the state championship in my second year there. Had quite a few local runners on the team, but only one other Righetti runner, 1st year runner Scott Mayfield. Didn't run with him at Righetti, he was a transfer student from down south his senior year. Went on to work at various jobs, then started working at the Tribune in San Luis Obispo in December 1980. Worked there for 27 years. Most of the years as the Night-time Production Manager, and Lead Pressman on the day-shift. Retired about two and a half years ago, until recently when they called me up asking me to come back on the press to help them out. I've been working two and a half days a week for them for about three months now. Don't want to do it for ever, but it's fine for now. Live in Paso Robles, Ca. and I'm married to Theresa Kendrick and h...Expand for more
ave 7 kids. Monica Naccarato (30), Shane Kendrick (22), Whitney Kendrick (21), Courtney Kendrick (15), Shy Kendrick (10), Devyn Kendrick (7), and finally Coy Michael Kendrick (3). Monica manages a clothing store in down town SLO. Shane ran for Atascadero H.S. and was the fastest freshman in SLO county in cross country. Then he decided to play JV water polo his sophomore year (Bummer!). Whitney is the artist of the family and lives in Phoenix Az. Courtney has done a little of everything. Played basketball, volleyball, etc... she goes to H.S. in SLO. Shy is the basketball player. She's 5'1" in the 5th grade and she can shoot. Devyn (Girl) is probably most like me. She's my hyper child, bouncing off the walls with endless energy. She is already running 5k's and doing really well. She also plays basketball. Little Coy is a handful and is a mommas boy. So far so good with him. My wife played travel softball, basketball, and dance. She has also taught all three. Taught dance and had girls perform in parades and such. Took two softball 18u teams to nationals in Spokane Washington. Now she runs a Club basketball program called Cal Swoosh. She has 11 teams from SLO to Paso Robles. She also coaches the Atascadero girls varsity program. I help her out where ever I can. Refereeing, stats, and coaching.
