I live in Fort Walton Beach, FL. I teach an autistic classroom with seven autistic students in a Special Day School with 150 students from ages 3 to 22. I have three, talented paraprofessionals and our students are severely language delayed or non-verbal. I have had some of my students for five plus years. Autism now affects 1 in every 88 babies born in the world. There is no known absolute cause and it is a perplexing puzzle how to discover, then travel the secret path into each one's unique world. Each day is a challenging adventure of trust, friendship and trying to integrate and mesh our two worlds into one.
