Cristie's Story
I hope old friends remember me as someone who was a good friend, a little goofy, and maybe too talkative. I was the teacher's pet, of course, but now I am a teacher - so that's not so bad.
I relax with a good book, quiet, clean house and 94.7 playing in the background. Just read a good book - called Playing - by Melanie Abrams.
I don't know if I have a specific hero. I think that everyday, people do heroic things and when they are gracious and don't tell the world then I like that.
Like many friends I know, most move away and then return home. I lived in Oakhurst - near Yosemite - for one year of my life. Moved because my husband took a job - that direction.
Life's biggest suprise came recently, when I realized when I stop trying - and let the pieces fall into place, WOW, how everything works out.
I've always hoped for a house and would love to move from our small apartment. However, I would be happier if we had less clothes, less books, less cluttter and an interior decorator. We need a Feng Shui artist to come fix this place.
What have I learned from my son? My mom was right, Karma comes around. No, he's a good kid, with my personality. Hyper and intense.
I miss Mr. Davis, North High's best math teacher. I heard he passed away in a car accident. He made me laugh and he is probably making God laugh. He inspired me to enjoy math and to love it.

d the rest on family, friends and charity, of course. It's not P.C. to say anything differently..
I'd buy a house - before my son has grandchildren for me. He has always known this apartment and no backyard.
I married my first crush and got crushed by my first crush. However, I still enjoy thinking about times that were more simple. From what I think, our personalities were too similar and it didn't work. Some say opposities attract and I do believe that's true, to a degree.
If I had one do-over - that would be - to go easier on myself, not try to be a perfectionist and listen more and talk less.
In 10 years, I hope to be fully self-employed and not stressed about having a real job somewhere. I'm going to get there by taking one day at a time and letting things fall into place with less of my energy making it happen.
My first job was at Bono's Pizza, where I got paid minimum wage to work in a place as hot as the oven itself and to listen to Madonna's - La Isla Bonita - while folding pizza boxes outside in the cool ocean breeze for a retreat. What I remember most about it - is I rode my bike to work and had fun. Oh, and they had good pizza. It's hard to find a really good slice of pizza anywhere.
Thought of the Day - Learn as you go - don't stop learning - learn from other's mistakes, go easy on yourself, have less clutter, laugh, love, listen, and remember money doesn't buy happiness - just more things.
