Curtis's Story

I hope all my friends thought of me as honest, fun, and most of all sincere in my friendships. To start with I have two great hard working sons Mark 30 and Ray 29. Iwll try to be as brief as possible. After graduating I worked in the Fiberglass Boat business. After a few years of being high on resin fumes I elected to find a new career. I then started driving Cement and dump trucks. When I was not driving I was turning wrenches in the maintenance shop. For a short time I drove 18 wheelers in 14 western states and Canada. These are the two careers I had working from the neck down. Next 11 years I worked for a bus company as Operations Manager. Stressfull and on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The experience and knowledge I gained there was incredible. In 1988 I started working for Weyerhaeuser Technology Center in the New Product Development team. This was a great job. This is when my life changed to fun! We bought a motorhome, 2 snowmobiles, and a dirtbike. Iwas able to play every weeeknd year round. It was awsome! During all this I found time to race. I was working with a local team and doing some traveling. After 13 years with Weyerhaeuser I took early retirement to follow my dream. I moved to Minnesota and we started a sprint car racing team. We have raced Midgets and Sprint cars in almost every state west of Ohio so far. From Minnesota we can find a race almost every night w...Expand for more
ithin 300 miles. I will continue this team until it is not fun anymore or I get tired of traveling. My favorite vacation was a 7 day cruise in the southern caribbean Some day soon I would like to spend winters in Aruba and summers at home relaxing. I love to read. I also enjoy discovery and the History channels. That is how I like to relax. I have two Cairn Terrier puppies I get so much enjoyment out of them. They love you no matter what you do.(TOTO DOGS) Pictures coming soon. There is one more experience I would like to share. A group of ten of my friends went down to Westport in the summer of 1995. We flew kites and played in the water all day. That evening after walking the beach we half circled an area with our jeeps to block the wind. We all brought out our blankets and coolers. We had gathered wood earlier in the day. We had a fire and all the trimmings. We all shared stories about friendship, relationships, and how hard it is when you lose a friend over stupid things. We all lost track of time until the sun started coming up. We ended up deciding that these 10 friendships would last forever. From that night forward we have all kept in touch and have really strong bonds and friendships. We know we can always rely on each other. It was amazing the depth in which we talked that night and the things we shared with each other. I was amazed and want to have more friends like these.
